Dog Training
Are you struggling with your dog pulling on the lead?
Maybe your dog's recall has declined since puppyhood?
Perhaps you just need some advice or help with general
puppy training to raise your puppy into a well rounded dog?
That's where I come in. I love to teach loose lead walking, recall, general puppy training and manners and I'm a canine reactivity specialist (certified by the Dog Training College!)
If any of these things apply to you or you're looking for advice on something a bit different, get in touch!
I use science based, force free methods to help you train your dog with the least aversion possible. I feel that using aversive methods for dog training is not necessary and can potentially create more harm than good. But most importantly, if you have a dog who exhibits a "problem" behaviour, I try to get to the root of the issue and understand WHY the dog is exhibiting behaviour before so we can come up with a "cure" rather than treating the symptoms of it. I focus on really building your relationship with your dog in order to gain mutual trust and respect, which is the foundation to all dog training.
Don't just take it from me, here are some success stories from some recent clients and their furry friends!
Hi there! My name is Adele and ever since I could talk I knew I wanted to work with animals and put their welfare at the forefront of everything I do. My first dog was a Staffordshire Bull Terrier called Poppy and she's my forever best friend. I dedicated my childhood to raising and training her, and throughout her 14 years (so far!) of life she's been the best dog I could have had. She taught me so much and she's part of the reason I am where I am today. We then got a JRT named Dexter and he grew up to be reactive to other dogs. Through figuring out how to help him cope in our world, I started training with the Dog Training College and that has opened up my mind to so many different ways of training and put to rest any harmful myths people may have told me over the years. This whole experience has been so challenging, but so rewarding and I feel I can really empathise with other owners out there going through similar things with their dogs.
I most recently got a puppy we named Miso. He has already taught me so much about how to raise a puppy and really put my skills to the test. He reminded me just how challenging raising and training puppies can be, but i wouldn't change him for the world. He has given me the confidence to start offering puppy packages and puppy classes (coming soon!)
